| The second week, my job was preparing medicine in the pharmacy. Many of the people that came through would tell me about their beliefs. They would tell me stories of how they were not accepted into their family because they chose to be Christian and not Muslim; many people were even beaten. As the week came to an end, we began running out of medicine; it was heart wrenching. We had to turn hundreds of desperate people away. It was hard to do, but it was even harder because the people got upset. A desperate mother even tried to force her way through the door so her child could be seen by the doctor. I hated leaving all of the people still in need, but I was ready to go home. |
