Getting a good amount of rest at night also will help you keep your weight in check. Often times, people eat junk food to cope with stressful situations when really the best remedy for stress is getting enough sleep at night, which is 7 to 8 hours (Teens Health). Having a regular sleep schedule will also keep you from the temptations of late night snacking, not to mention give you energy to win over the challenges college life throws at you.

Sleep is a wonderful thing, but at proper times and in moderation! Coming to college means tons of free time, and living on campus makes it easy to go home and take a nap during every break. Do not get me wrong, I strongly believe that naps are gifts from heaven, but napping everyday is an easy way to put on the pounds. The smartest things to do with free time are study or do homework. If you do not feel like being productive though, use your free time for something fun; burn a few calories while you enjoy the day, go exploring around campus or take a walk!
